Dear Parents,

 

 We are happy to welcome you to our César Chávez Elementary School. We look forward to working with you and our children. We have a dedicated staff and we pledge to provide your children with a high quality educational program with the supports they need to be successful. As the school principal, I am committed to having an environment where I will be accessible, approachable, open-minded, and a thoughtful listener for any matter that you may want to discuss. I am honored and excited to be serving as the principal at this wonderful school and look forward to serving this great community.

 

 

Your interest in and enthusiasm for your child's schoolwork and school activities will help your child see school as valuable and he/she will strive to do well. Read with your child daily. Look over your child's homework every day and give assistance when it's needed. Show your child that education is high priority through your daily actions and words. Preparation for high school graduation and college entrance exams begin now with high expectations you set for your children. Please make sure your children comes to school every day and arrives on time unless he/she is ill. Attendance patterns get set early on.

 

 We invite you to visit the school to become acquainted with your child's teacher and to become involved. It is important for your child's education that you attend parent-teacher conferences, Back to School Night and Family Friday/Coffee With The Principal. We invite you to become involved at Chávez by joining our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council (SSC) and Site Governance Team (SGT). Please consider offering your time and talent by joining our parent volunteer program.

 

We will continue to improve student achievement by supporting teaching and learning in the classrooms. We want all of our students to be successful readers, writers, mathematicians, and proficient in their learning. Our goal is to have all of our students reach or exceed the academic standards for their grade levels. In addition, it is the mission and goal at Chávez that all our students are prepared for the global society and to seek opportunities in this ever changing world.
