Welcome to Miller Elementary Health Office.  Our school is staffed with a Certified School Nurse based on our enrollment.  School nurses, who are the primary health care providers within the educational environment, promote each student’s attainment of optimum health status, physical and mental, to achieve their fullest potential as a learner and as a person.  The school nurse does not diagnose illnesses and will contact parents to pick up their child from school when such action is necessary for the child and the protection of others.  It is imperative that the school nurse is made aware of your child’s health history to assist in the management of care while at school. Health screenings; management of immunization requirements, physicals, and dental assessments; administration of medications; providing health procedures; and controlling communicable diseases are among the job duties of a school nurse.

My name is Evelyn Cuevas.  I am a Registered Nurse, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Education.  I am also a Credentialed School Nurse. I have been assigned to Miller Elementary since year 2002 and it is my pleasure to serve the Miller Community.  This school year I am assigned here from Monday to Friday.  Each year varies depending on the school population.  The health office hours are from 7:30 – 3:30.  Please feel free to contact me for any questions you may have.
