Student Outreach

Student Outreach Program (formerly S.T.A.R.* Program)

The purpose of the Student Outreach Program is to provide additional support for students who receive two or more F's at the end of a grading period.

Support includes:

  • monitoring students' academic and citizenship progress.

  • reviewing progress report grades and teachers' comments with each student.

  • having small group and one-on-one tutorial sessions.

  • meeting with parents and/or teachers when requested.

  • communicating with parents and teachers by phone and e-mail.

  • using feedback from school staff to identify needs.

*S.T.A.R. = Students Taking Academic Responsibility.

This is NOT related to the STAR test.
