Parent Connect is a great opportunity for parents to sit down with their child and go over progress grades leading to the Semester report. Here at Lewis we have Honor Roll for students who achieve a 3.5 GPA with no "N's" or "U's". Students are selected for Honor Roll from the Semester Report Card. We hold an assembly in March for the for the mid-year Report Card which comes out in February and in October for the June Report Card. Honor Roll lists are posted in the English rooms as well as in the front office and various places around our campus. A letter will go out to the parents inviting them to our assembly approximately 2 weeks in advance.
"The Harvey Award Night" is held at the end of the year (June). Various awards go to students who have been selected by teachers for certain achievements and /or contributions at Lewis. In addition, recognition will be given to students in the area of core subjects, Math, Science, English and History. These certificates will be presented to 6th and 7th grade students. Special award plaques will be presented to 8th grade students receiving teacher nominations. Harvey Awards will be presented to 8th grade students who have shown academic excellence while attending Lewis Middle School for the past three years. Invitations to this event will be mailed home in May.
