Overview of requirements & timeline

 

 

 

November 6: ALL senior advisory teachers will hand out and review requirements with their students. Any student without a Naviance login need to be referred to Toby Schwartz.

 

 

 

November 7: Students will return signed notice acknowledging they have reviewed requirements with their parent/guardian and agree to meet all deadlines.  

 

 

 

November 14: Students will have completed personal profile on Naviance. All students will have given their formal request for letter of recommendation forms to the 2 teachers of their choice.

 

 

 

~ During Thanksgiving break, students are expected to work on Naviance to complete career inventory by deadline. ~

 

 

 

November 28: Students will have career inventory on Naviance completed.

 

 

 

December 5: All pieces of Naviance are to be completed by students.

 

 

 

December 12: All students will have chosen the topic of their presentation with signed approval from advisory teacher AND parent/guardian.

 

 

 

~Week before Winter Break all lose ends should be fixed. Parent/guardian letters will be sent home to notify of progress.

 

 

 

January 8 & 9: All advisory teachers check progress on presentation.

 

 

 

January 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30 are devoted to students working on presentations.

 

 

 

February 13: Rough presentation due. Parent/guardian letters sent home.

 

 

 

March 20: Final presentation due. Parent/guardian letters sent home.

 

 

 

 

At this point all students should be completed with portfolio and have final presentations ready for preview. Any students needing more time need approval.

 

 

 

April students will do presentations to class during advisory to practice and fine tune. Students should be able to practice a minimum of 2 times during April.
