Letter from the principal

Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year!  I hope that all of you were able to enjoy your summer vacation and relax with family and friends. I am very excited to be a part of the Valencia Park community.  In my short time here at Valencia Park, I have quickly come to appreciate the dedication that the staff, teachers and parents give to the school.

Most recently I was a Vice Principal at Porter Elementary School.  Previous to Porter, I was an English Learner Support Teacher at Field Elementary. I am extremely fortunate and grateful to be at Valencia Park Elementary and my goal is to lead the work for many years to come. 

This year promises to be an exciting, challenging, and rewarding year. We have excellent teachers and efficient staff who all work together to make Valencia Park a great place for children to learn and grow. The early years in the education of a child are critical to building long term academic success.  As parents, your involvement and support in the education of your child are equally important.  We are committed to building a strong academic program at Valencia Park as well as creating ways to promote more parent and community involvement this year. 

Your child will be taking home a "Beginning of the Year" information packet. These packets contain important information about the school policies and other useful information to help you guide your student through the school year.  Please take a few moments to review and discuss the contents of the packet with your child.  Be sure to sign all forms and have your child return them to their classroom teacher. We appreciate your support and willingness to working together with us in the best interest of all children.
