Gifted and Talented Education: GATE
Qualified students are eligible to enroll in our Gifted and Talented Program. Challenging courses address the unique needs for both GATE and Seminar students.
Curriculum enrichment and modification provides depth, novelty, and complexity through:
curriculum compacting
socratic seminar
in-depth exploration and research of global concepts and issues
integration of technology across the disciplines
Kohlberg's moral reasoning strategies
problem and project based-learning
Taba's method of questioning
constructivist inquiry-based approach to building knowledge and understanding
Opportunities for student choice and creative expression include:
VAPA video projection, design cycle, dramatic presentations
student-led conferences and portfolio exhibition
student-initiated service campaigs and projects
