About LEADS

Welcome to LEADS High School at the San Diego High Educational Complex, where students are inspired to become the leaders of tomorrow.

At LEADS we celebrate our students’ accomplishments with a series of bi-monthly whole school activities where we recognize students who are working hard and following our school’s policies and procedures. Parents and community members are always welcome at LEADS, we encourage you to become active on one of our school’s advisory boards or shared leadership teams. We welcome to our school, where leaders are grown and futures are forged.

At LEADS we believe that students should:

  • Lead by Example

  • Explore the world around them

  • Achieve by learning from successes as well as challenges

  • Develop positive relationships

  • Serve their school and home communities

LEADS students have access to community college courses through our partnership with San Diego City College and the Early College High School Initiative. Two career pathways are available to students to help them prepare for their futures:

  • Careers in Law Enforcement – police officers, parole officers, social workers

  • Careers in the Law Profession – attorneys, judges, court interpreters, court reporters

Our business partners include Cal Western School of Law, the San Diego Humane Society, and San Diego City College. LEADS teachers provide learning experiences that are intended to prepare students for life, college and for their future careers.

Service to the community is an integral aspect of our school. LEADS students are expected to give some of their free time in order to help others. Some of the organizations that we will participate with are Volunteer San Diego, Habitat for Humanity, Taking It Global, and the International Partnership for Service Learning and Leadership.
