During the week of Nov 8-22, 2013, our Kimbrough ASB student council conducted a school-wide penny drive. The week-long penny drive consisted of ASB students collecting pennies during recess to benefit Rachel's Women Center. The Rachel's Women Center supports women in transition who need support in gaining a fresh start in life. Every Christmas, each woman at the center receives a new pair of shoes through donations. Kimbrough Elementary thought it would be wonderful if the women's center also received socks to go along with the donated shoes. The funds collected from the penny drive will be used to buy a pair of socks for each woman at the center.  Thank you to Macy's for their support with Kimbrough's 2013 sock drive!

From the counselor:
On behalf of the ASB student council and myself I would like to thank all of you for your supporting our 2nd annual penny drive. Last night I went to coinstar and am proud to announce that our school raised a total of $210.00. I will give this money to Mrs. Sanders who will then take it Macy's and purchase socks for the women at the Rachels Women's Center.
