Our Diverse Demographics
Juarez Elementary School boasts a culturally diverse student population. Our students come from many different backgrounds including Mexican, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Somalian, Iraqi, Saudi Arabian, Pakistani, Ethiopian, Brazilian, Israeli, and Ukrainian.
Our general student population includes approximately 40% Hispanic, 25% White, 20% Asian, and 15% African American students enrolled. Approximately 25% of our pupils are Choice students and attend our school from other areas of San Diego. The remainder of our students are neighborhood students. Approximately 74% of our students fall in the Title I category and qualify for free or reduced lunch. Approximately 40% of our students speak a language other than English at home. Approximately 15% of our students have learning disabilities, and another 15% are classified as gifted learners.
The Juarez community believes that there is beauty in diversity, and that our children are fortunate to be educated in such a diverse setting!
