Meet Principal Marques

Marceline Marques is a third-generation San Diegan, and was educated at San Diego State University. She received her bachelor's degree (in Drama and Spanish) and her master's degree (Education Administration), as well as her teaching credential (multiple subject K-12) and administrative credentials at SDSU.
Mrs. Marques began teaching in the San Diego Unified School District in 1987, and has worked at several elementary schools as a teacher, resource teacher, and vice principal. She considers it her privilege to have served as principal at Juarez Elementary for the last 5 years.
She brings a unique perspective to her job, being an educator... married to an educator... and parent of 2 children enrolled in San Diego Unified schools, both of whom graduated from Juarez!
Her personal motto is: "At the core of every decision... what is best for the child?" That is the beacon she follows to direct the staff and student body of Juarez Elementary.
