    Dear Parents of 8th Graders:

    These are the expectations for the Promotion Ceremony  this Friday, July 19, 2013 @ The Language Academy:

    SDUSD police will be present to ensure school safety in all district Promotions this year & SDPD may be present to direct traffic.

    Parents & guests must enter through the Front Office,sign in & get a Visitor's Badge in order to enter the Auditorium.

    The Ceremony is from 9:30 - 10:30 & the Reception is from 10:30 to 10:45 approximately.

    ·        Guests may NOT enter or exit the Auditorium through doors facing 64th St.  

    ·        SDSU's PARKING STRUCTURE ON MONTEZUMA RD. costs $1.00 / HOUR for your convenience You may want to plan for 3 hours to be safe & not be ticketed.

    ·        No Balloons are allowed in the auditorium as per School Police.

    ·        After the Reception- Parents may take their student(s) homeby checking them out at the Lunch Arbor with Ms. Semi, who will have a special list for you to sign them out.

    ·        By Law, every child leaving campus must be signed out with Ms. Semy. No exceptions!

    Estas son las expectativas para la Ceremonia de Promoción de este viernes, 19 de julio 2013 en  Language Academy: 

    La policía de ntro. Distrito estará presente para garantizar la seguridad de las escuelas
    en todas las promociones del distrito este año yla Policía de SD puede estar presente para dirigir el tráfico vial.

    Los padres e invitados deberán entrar por la oficina principal, firmar
    y obtener un pase de visitante para entrar al auditorio.La ceremonia es de 09:30-10:30 y la recepción será de 10:30-10:45 aproximadamente.

    Los visitantes no pueden entrar o salir del auditorio a través de las puertas que dan a la Calle 64.

    La Univ. de  SDSU cuenta con ESTACIONAMIENTO  EN MONTEZUMA RD. y cuesta $ 1.00 por hora para su conveniencia.

    Puede que desee planear estar aquí por 3 horas para estar seguro y
    no ser multados. Los globos no están permitidos en el auditorio por recomendación de la Policía  escolar.

    Después de la recepción-Los padres pueden llevar  a sus estudiantes a casa- al verificar
    su información en el Comedor con la Sra. Semi, que dispondrá de una lista especial para que usted firme antes de salir del plantel.

    Por ley, los niños que salen del plantel deberán ser documentados
    ara este efecto con la Sra. Semi Johnson. Sin excepciones!

  • Span-French Awards Assembly - Time Change

    Hello Parents,
    This message is for our Middle School Families of Language Academy’s Spanish & French National Awards Recipients only:
    Due the extraordinary success of so many students who are receiving awards on Wed., June 19, 2013—we will not be able to accommodate over 300 people in our Auditorium due to the building capacity & safety laws. 
    For this reason, we will hold 2 separate assemblies on Wednesday, June 19th and times have changed:

    Our Spanish Awards Assembly will be from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m., & 

    Our French Awards Assembly will be from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.

    We hope you will be able to join us to honor your child’saccomplishments as he/she receive this great distinction. Thank you foryour time!

  • Information for June 2013

    Hello Parents of The Language Academy:
    The following are important announcements for the month of June. Please check our website for more details. We are still unable to make any changes to Transportation & kids who normally take the bus, & we won’t be able to do so until Wed., June 19th. Please communicate via a ribbon on your child’s backpack if they normally ride the bus & must go to the Parent Pick Up area- instead. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you.
    On Mon. & Tues., June 17 & 18 there will be no school due to Teacher Prep Days. Students return to school on Wed., June 19th. On Thursday, June 20th we will host our Annual Multi-Cultural Fair which begins around 4:00 PM. For Parking, consult the map on our website & avoid tickets by not parking in B-Parking areas.

  • Transportation Changes for This Week

    Hello Parents of Language Academy's Bused Students.


    Mrs. Chantal Fernandez, our Transportation Liaison will be out from Wednesday, May 8, 2013- Friday, May 10, 2013. Phone & email messages for Mrs. Fernandez will NOT be checked during these 3 days. No changes to transportation will be possible for anyone between the 8th and 10th of May, unless you call Mrs. Fernandez today or tomorrow May 7th by 1:00 pm – No exceptions. If you wish to make any changes for these 3 days, please leave Mrs. Fernandez a message by calling her immediately at 619-582-5398 & leaving a message on her voicemail today or tomorrow, before 1:00 p.m.

    Please Note: The Front office staff may not make Transportation related changes. For other Transportation or Enrollment  questions, please call back on Monday May 13th. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Change to dismissal time for minimum day/ Thursdays

    Hello Parents of The Language Academy:

    This is an important Announcement.

    Our Minimum Day will be extended by ten minutes starting this Thursday, December 6, 2012. All families should have received a letter from the school district explaining the  need for us to extend the school day by ten minutes on our minimum days in order for our middle school students to have a twenty minute lunch every day. Since we are a K-8 school, this change will affect the entire school. Starting on Thursday, December 6, middle school students will be dismissedat 1:05 and K-5 students will be dismissed at 12:45. The buses will depart at 1:10 beginning on December 6. Parents should plan to pick up students who ride the bus 10 minutes later than the previously scheduled

  • November Reminders

    Hello Parents of LA students:

    This is yor VP with Nov. Reminders. Next week Nov. 12-16 is an unusual week; beginning Mon., Nov. 12th with Veteran’s day & there is No school.  
    Tues. Nov. 13 is Coffee with the Principal at 9AM in the Auditorium
    Also Tues – Fri., Nov. 13th-16th are all Minimum Days due to Parent/Teacher Conferences. Bus students will arrive home at their stops approximately 3 hours earlier than most days. All other students must be picked up at 12:35 pm, for Elem & 12:45 pm, for Middle School. Call Chantal for any bus changes ASAP, & please make day care arrangements in advance, as no student is allowed on-campus without a parent- no exceptions. 
    Thanksgiving Break is the weeek of the Nov. 19-23 & classes resume on Mon. 11/26/12.  Thank you for your time & see you all at Parent/Teacher Conferences!

  • Picture Make-ups and Tutoring App

    Picture Make Up day is Tues. OCT 30th. ALSO...

    The District is offering Free Tutoring & your child may qualify for this. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. Wed., Oct. 31st. The mailing deadline has passed so you must deliver it in person to: The SES Office at 4525 Market Street, Bldg. 800; San Diego, CA 92102 between 8AM & 5PM  OR to The Last Tutoring Provider Fair tomorrow, Mon. 10/29 @ the Jacobs Center at 404 Euclid Avenue, 92114 between 2:30-6:30 PM

    You can obtain a copy of the application at the SES Office, at the Fair on Monday or on the website: Go to “Departments”; “Supplemental Educational Services”; click on the link for the booklet or just the application.
    Be sure to download, complete it & Submit your Application by this Wednesday, 10/31/12
