Welcome to the 2013-2014 School Year!
I am pleased and honored to be appointed Principal at Holmes. I look forward to working with teachers, support staff, students, families and the community to facilitate improved achievement for each child.
I’d like to take this opportunity to share a bit about myself. I am a native of San Diego and grew up in the San Diego Unified School District. I attended Cadman, Whitman, and Marston and spent most of my childhood in the Clairemont community. I met my wife at my first teaching assignment and she teaches 1st grade at Cadman Elementary. My favorite activity is spending time with my 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son. We love to play at the park and feed the ducks. I enjoy all sports, weightlifting, mountain biking, and learning as much as possible.
Professionally, I have worked in the district for 19 years. I worked as a teacher’s aide for 3 years before becoming a teacher. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. Along with my classroom experience, I have had leadership experience as a Peer Coach/Staff Developer, Project Resource Teacher, Beginning Teacher Support Provider, and Vice Principal.
My variety of experiences have enabled me to gain valuable knowledge in understanding the roles and responsibilities we each play in shaping young minds to be lifelong learners and prepared for the 21st Century.
You have my very best wishes for a year of extraordinary achievement.
