Welcome Parents, Guardians and Families
We are committed to communicating with and engaging parents as partners in their children’s education. The district’s Parent Outreach and Engagement Department serves as a national model in providing opportunities and effective methods fo parents, guardians, and family members to participate in the educational process. We are also committed to obtaining community resources for our school and invite all members of our community to assist us in the education of our students. Parents have many opportunities to be involved at their children’s school site (for example, governance committees, special events, fundraising events, parent organizations, and in classrooms) and at the district level (for example, district councils/committees, Parent University, and special events). We encourage parents to support their children at home by making their expectations about school clear and creating a positive homework and learning environment.
Wangenheim Middle School uses the Connect-Ed system to communicate with our families. This tool allows us to contact parents using the Internet and phone lines. We also use Facebook and our own website to share and interact with our families.
Wangenheim parents volunteer as readers, tutors, and chaperons at school events. They serve on various committees, including the Shared Decision-Making Committee, Parent Teacher Student Association, School Site Council, and English Learner Advisory Committee.
If you would like to get involved, please contact the school.
