Proposition S Bond Program
On November 4, 2008, nearly 69 percent of San Diego voters passed the $2.1 billion general obligation bond measure, Proposition S. This bond program is providing resources to the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) to repair, renovate and revitalize its neighborhood schools.

Proposition S Construction Update

  1. Bid walk is scheduled for 2/2/12 9:00 a.m. with  their contracts  department, architect, and contractors. 

  2. Bid Opening 2/22/12.

  3. Francisco and I plan to meet with teachers / staff affected by the move (B-35 thru B-41) during the first week in March.

  4. Board of Education award of contract 3/27/12.

  5. Contractor notice to proceed 3/30/12.

  6. Provide power, data, phones and asphalt at new re-locatable classrooms from 4/2/12 to 4/27/12.

  7. Move items from classrooms B-35 thru B-41 the week of 4/23/12.

  8. Start demolition of portables and start/complete construction of new building 4/30/12 to 3/10/13.

  9. Move classrooms to new building, spring 2013.

  10. Demolition of B-23 thru B-34 will start after the existing classrooms are moved to the new building.

  11. Project completion 5/25/13.
