The Elementary and Secondary Education Act requires Title I schools to receive technical assistance to identify instructional strategies and methods that address the specific instructional issues causing local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools to be identified for program improvement (PI). With the number of LEAs and schools being identified for PI increasing, a cost-effective way for the California Department of Education to provide assistance to the field is through a face-to-face conference. This two-day conference will provide a forum for sharing promising, research-supported educational practices and strategies, basic Title I requirements, and innovative ways to improve student learning.
