  Wrestling: Fall / Winter 2012-13 Head Coach:Mark Hoskisson Wrestling Highlights February 12, 2012 Hoover senior Claire Milan competed at the 110lb. weight class in the 2013 CIF Girls Championship Tournament at Steele Canyon High School. Contestants who place 1st or 2nd qualify to take part in the CA State Championship Girls Invitational at Lemoore HS, in Lemoore CA. Claire did very well in the early rounds. After pinning both here first and second round opponents Claire made it to the Championship match which secured her at least 2nd place and a trip to the state tournament. Unfortunately, Claire lost by pin in the 3rd period in the championship match to Steele Canyon.
Congratulations to all the Hoover wrestlers who competed at the City Conference championships last Saturday at Serra HS, especially the following place winners: Kenneth Moore (140 lbs.) 1st place, Moises Garcia (154 lbs.) 3rd place, Alfredo Uribe (172 lbs.) 4th place, McCarthy Carter (184 lbs.) 4th place, and Charlie Lecourtois (128 lbs.) 6th place. Good luck to all the wrestlers as they compete this Saturday 2/16 in the CIF Divisiion III championships at Cathedral Catholic High School. Wrestling begins at 9 am. February 4, 2013 The Hoover Wrestling Team competed in the Central League Championships at Kearny High School on Friday February 1, 2013. Hoover had three wrestlers go undefeated in this single elimination winner take all tournament to determine the league's best wrestlers in each weight class and crowned League Champ: Charlie LeCourtois at 126Lbs., Kenney Moore at 145Lbs., and Moises Garcia at 152Lbs. Congratulations to these three outstanding wrestlers from Hoover High School.
This past weekend we were at Holtville HS, Holtville CA. for the 50th annual Holtville Rotary Invitational. Hoover had 8 wrestlers competing in the 2-day tournament. Two Hoover wrestlers made it to the medal rounds: Moises Garcia and Kenneth Moore. 1st Place Match 154lb. Moises Garcia (Hoover) 5-0, Sr. over Matt Duffield (Army Navy Academy) 4-1, Sr. (Pin 1:16)  3rd Place Match 147lb. Kirchenbauer Sports Complex at Holtville High for Friday’s 50th annual Holtville High Rotary Invitational, ...read more December 2012 Hoover Sophomore, Kenneth Moore, took 7th place at the 44th Annual California Coast Wrestling Classic Tournament. Kenneth competed in the 145 pound weight class in a 64 man bracket tournament on December 7 and 8th in Aptos, CA. 
The California Coast Wrestling Classic was held at Aptos High School for the second year and it is continually improving. This annual event features some of the best wrestlers from California and nearby states. The wonderful parent support and excellent facilities make the tournament a pleasurable experience for every team attending.
