The Cabrillo Elementary School Library was built with Prop MM funds. It is a light, bright modern space housing an elementary (K-4) book collection downstairs. The upstairs houses a conference room and therapy and counseling offices. The interior courtyard has a small seating area and friendship garden. The exterior wall of the ramp was painted in an undersea theme by local artist, Dianne Abbott, the grandparent of students Caden & Dylan Farris.
In the 2010-2011 school year, Cabrillo was awarded the RIF-Colgate grant, which donated over 100 new books to the facility. Most of the books had a health and wellness theme and can be identified by a red Colgate sticker on the cover of the book.
That same year Cabrillo Elementary was also awarded a $5,000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries.
