All students at the Kearny High Educational Complex (KHEC) are required to properly wear around their neck school issued lanyards and a school issued photo ID. Every student will be required to wear his/her individual school lanyard while on school grounds at all times*, including athletic events, and before/after school.
The lanyard must be worn around the neck and should not be altered.NO EXCEPTIONS. There will be disciplinary consequences for students who violate the KHEC Lanyard Policy.
Students will not be permitted to enter classrooms or school events without the appropriate school lanyard which displays their photo ID.Students will be issued their first lanyard at no cost during the first week of school. In the event a student loses the lanyard or photo ID, it must be replaced immediately.In either case, students are required to report to the CTA Office immediately.
The CTA Main Office will make provisions to replace either the lanyard and/or the photo ID immediately. The student will be required to pay replacement costs of $2.00 for the lanyard and $5.00 for the photo-id. Temporary ID’s may be provided by the site administrator for specific circumstances.Pending the arrival of the school photo ID at the beginning of the school year, the lanyard holder will only contain the class schedule on the front side when classes start during the first week of school.
*For safety reasons, students will not wear their lanyards at the following times:
- P.E./ROTC Class
- Kearny athletes participating in practice or a game
- Cheerleading and cheer practice
- Any classroom or extra-curricular activity in which the lanyard my cause a safety concern, as deemed by the principal or school police officer.
