Mrs. Miller's Biography
My name is Sharon Miller and I have been teaching in SDUSD for the past nine years. I am lucky to be back at Sequoia Elementary this year to start my tenth year of teaching!
I have been at Sequoia Elementary for the past three years teaching fifth grade. I feel lucky to be part of such a wonderful staff. I have teaching experience in primary and upper grades along with one year of middle school in the content areas of english and social studies. I am GATE certified and have recieved my Master's Degree too.
My teaching philosophy is to push my students to ensure high expectations for themselves while molding them into respectful citizens. I value a three-way relationship in my classroom: student, parent, and myself.
I grew up in Port Huron, Michigan near Detroit. I moved to Carson City, Nevada when I was in my early teens. I stayed in the Nevada area and started my college experience in Reno. Then, I reconnected with some family members in San Diego in my early 20's and have stayed ever since!
My husband, Eric teaches at Mira Mesa High School and coaches track and cross-country. We have one daughter, Keilani who is in second grade this year. My other child is our dog, Kava who keeps me busy!
I can be contacted via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
