Where Technology and Character Come Together

Gifted and Talented Education (GATE)

The GATE program supports high-achieving and underachieving pupils who are identified as gifted and talented. By state definition, gifted students are pupils who possess a capacity for excellence far beyond that of their chronological peers. This capacity includes many and varied characteristics that require modifications of curriculum and instruction. These modifications form the basis of gifted and talented educational services.

Cluster and Seminar (Combined Classes): iMiddle offers GATE cluster/seminar combined classes at all grade levels. Students who are certified GATE cluster or seminar by the district will be placed in these classes.

High achievers who are not GATE certified may also be placed in a cluster/seminar class pending multiple factors, including space available, teacher recommendations, past academic performance in class and on standarized tests, and consistency of effort and achievement over previous three years. Please contact the school counselor Kristy Rozsnyoi at krozsnyoi@sandi.net or the GATE team lead teacher, Rick Selby, at fselby@sandi.net, for more information.
