Hello and thank you for visiting my page! I have had the privilege of working at Monroe Clark for eight years and love this community and my job. As Dean of Students I get to interact with all three grade levels on a daily basis. My objective is to ensure that all students have a happy and positive school experience where they feel safe and are able to learn to the best of their ability.
Monroe Clark has adopted the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Program to guide our school discipline policy and we have had fantastic results. Last year we reduced office referrals by 50% from the previous year. I believe that when children make mistakes it is an opportunity for learning and re teaching of core values and appropriate behavior. Helping children repair relationships with their peers and teachers is something I spend a great deal of time on as the Dean of Students.
Prior to working at Clark as a teacher, I worked as a counselor at a group home in Northern California with teenagers 13-18. I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, an Educational Specialist Credential and an Administrative Services Credential. I am currently the School Site Counsel Chair, Co-Chair of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Committee, Governance Team member, Wellness Council Member and affiliated with The Partnership for Children with the City Heights Educational Collaborative. I also help facilitate the Feeding America Program, TKF Mentoring Program, and UPAC program.
In my free time I love to travel, go to the beach, do yoga, read, write and cook. I have an open door policy so please feel free to contact me any time. I look forward to meeting you!
