Informational Meetings
Information regarding layoff/reduction in hours, contract language, bumping, reemployment, benefits (medical/dental insurance), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), unemployment insurance, etc. will be provided.

All meetings will be held in the Education Center Auditorium. Carpooling is encouraged as parking is very limited.

Human Resources staff will answer questions regarding district classified layoff, reduction in hours, reemployment, etc. Call (619) 725-8101, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

District Classified Job Postings
Classified job opportunities are updated daily on the Employment webpage. Employees without computer access at home or work can use the computers in the Education Center lobby. In addition, public libraries and community colleges offer free access.

Substitute or Temporary District Assignments
The district has a need for qualified substitutes in the areas of clerical, secretarial, special education and children’s center employees. To sign up to substitute via the automated calling system (SAMS), contact Sandra Bonslater at (619) 725-8034. State that you are a laid-off employee who wants to work in a temporary capacity.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP through PacifiCare)
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to all current employees and their family members (who have medical insurance through VEBA with PacifiCare or Kaiser) EAP specialists are licensed, trained therapists who offer counseling services for those dealing with a variety of problems, including issues related to the budget cuts Adobe PDF. San Diego Workforce Partnership and Employment Development Department
San Diego Workforce Partnership and the Employment Development Department (EDD) have Career Centers throughout San Diego that offer free services to laid-off or affected employees including funding for retraining, job search workshops, resume writing and interviewing workshops, computer classes, and career counseling, along with a job posting board with thousands of job opportunities.
