Major agenda items:

The Board voted 5-0 to approve:

• The amended charter for the Museum Charter School.
• Renewal of the charter for the Kipp Adelante Preparatory Academy.
• Final offers for the allocation of facilities for Charter Schools under Proposition 39 (Education Code Section 47614) for the 2008-09 school year. In addition, the Board asked that staff return in April with a review of fees.
• 13th Amendment to Resolution in the Matter of Levying Fees on Development Projects (fee increase).
• Submission of a Request for Allowance of Attendance Because of Emergency Conditions—San Diego County Fires.

The Board voted 3-2, with Jackson and Lee in opposition, to approve:

• Adopt the Textbooks and Instructional Materials for the 2008-09 School Year. Staff will return in two weeks with a report on e-books as textbooks.

Recognition and Presentations:

The Board voted 5-0 to approve:

• Resolution in the Matter of the Recognition of April 2008 as Alcohol Awareness Month.
• Resolution in the Matter of the Recognition of April 2008 as Child Abuse Awareness Month.
• Resolution in the Matter of the Recognition of March 31, 2008, as Cesar E. Chavez Day.
