Getting Started
Students having breakfast may arrive at school at
8:45 AM. The rest of the students may arrive at
8:50 AM when supervision begins on the blacktop.
For their safety, please do not let children come
to school earlier. Children in all grades line up
in their designated class area on the blacktop.
All classes begin at 9:05 AM Please have students
at school in time for the start of the day. Tardy
students disrupt the classroom and the students
miss important instruction. If your child is late,
they must go to the office to obtain a tardy slip
before going to class. If your child will be absent,
please call the office before 8:30 AM School office
hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Morning Recess
11:30AM-11:45AM
Lunch and Recess
The lunch and recess period is from 12:45 PM to
1:25 PM. Students may bring a lunch or purchase
one in the cafeteria. Lunches and milk may be paid
for singularly or prepaid in quantity in the cafeteria
before school. If a child forgets lunch, he/she
may obtain a cafeteria voucher from the office.
Grades K - 2 Lunch: 12:45 - 1:05, play: 1:05 - 1:25
Grades 3 - 5 Play: 12:45 - 1:05, lunch: 1:05 - 1:25
Playground Partners provides recess activities on
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on the upper field.

Bicycle riding
Only 4th and 5th graders are allowed to ride bicycles
to school. California law requires helmets for all
riders under the age of 18. Review and follow all

Parking
Except for teachers and staff, there is no on-campus
parking at Bird Rock Elementary School. Please park
on the streets surrounding the campus and walk to
meet your children. Please click
