6/13--Friday, 1:30--All-School Concert in the Auditorium (Students should dress to represent the 1950's.)
6/16-Last day of school--Dismissal at 3:35, Final report card of the year distributed.
9/2, Tuesday--First day of 2008-2009 School Year! |

Summer Learning Tips:
Keep reading to and with your child!!! San Diego Public Libraries have wonderful programs during the summer, and your child can borrow lots of books at every level and on any subject!
Encourage your child to write regularly--they can keep a summer journal, write fictional stories, whatever captures their interest and keeps them practicing. Help them to practice good penmanship and proper letter formation.
If your child likes "flash card" type practice, continue to introduce common sight words and math addition and subtraction facts. They should have lots of hands-on experience with money--counting it and making change if they are ready.
Oh yeah, don't forget to have fun! Have a wonderful summer, and I look forward to seeing your big "first-graders" on campus in September!

Parent volunteers are welcome in the classroom--look for the sign-up sheet by our door. All volunteers must submit the results of a current TB test to the office. Thank you!
Book bags will be assigned on Fridays and should be returned on the following Thursday to be checked in. Please remind your student to keep the bag in his or her backpack when not in use.
Library books should be returned by Friday morning for students to check out a new book during our library time.
