BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS
At Bay Park Elementary School, we are dedicated to
helping children develop respect and responsibility. Age-appropriate rules and
consequences are clearly communicated, effectively taught, and consistently
reinforced by staff. We believe that ALL children can learn and that they
deserve the best education possible in the safest and most supportive
environment. Students, teachers and staff members have the right to work in a
setting where learning can take place at optimal levels. We expect every child
to follow our general rules of behavior at all times, whether in the classroom,
on the playground, in the cafeteria, or in the hallways. Teachers will review
the expectations with their students every day during the first week of school.
They will also teach children the rules, reinforce positive behavior, discuss
negative consequences and re-teach the rules whenever needed.

Follow
directions the first time they are given.

bring flowers, balloons, or other gifts to the reception.
Character Education and Respect for Diversity
At Bay Park School we work with our students to help them
make choices that demonstrate respect for oneself and others, as well as
responsibility for participating constructively in a community. We believe it
is essential to students’ future success and also to a healthy, humane society.
Character develops through exposure to the actions and attitudes of other,
particularly those whom children care about and trust. We want to help our
students develop a deep regard for themselves, for others, and for the world
around them. We encourage them to “STOP, THINK AND CHOOSE” so that they will
always make thoughtful and responsible choices.
