Mr. Stanley "Data" Dobbs previously served as Assistant Superintendent, Business (CFO/COO/CTO) of Hayward Unified School District in Northern California educating over 21,000 students with approximately 2,275 employees with an operating budget of $215 million. As the leader of TEAM BUSINESS, his areas of oversight includes the Accounting, Finance, Budgeting, Payroll, Operations, Maintenance/Grounds, Custodial, Purchasing, Technology, Transportation, Child Nutrition, Strategic and Risk Management, Warehousing, Government Relations, and Facilities/Construction Management Departments. He also led a community based information and education forum the Fiscal Integrity and Transparency Advisory Group (FITAG) and created the “Fiscal Solvency Solution Strategies” model that is being implemented successfully across California districts. He also served as the CFO/COO/CTO of the Coalinga-Huron Joint Unified and supported the Monterey Peninsula Unified School Districts. A champion for business process reengineering, strategic service delivery innovations and sustainable fiscal accountability practices, Dobbs developed the C.H.A.N.G.E. (Comprehensive Hands-on Approach to Necessary Gains in Efficiency) methodology that has been deployed to restore confidence in public education within California and New Jersey schools. Dobbs served as the sole California representative during the summer 2012 at the prestigious Harvard University Graduate School of Education National Urban School Leaders (NUSL) Program.
Mr. Dobbs is also a retired US Navy Commander who in his final assignment at Naval Air Force supported the global operations and business management of over 200,000 personnel, 3,800 aircraft, 11 aircraft carriers, 29 air stations and the execution of an annual budget of over $40 billion dollars. His innovative management strategies in process improvements significantly increased mission readiness and resulted in an operating savings of over $1.8 billion in 18 months. In July 2008, he was recognized in a Pentagon sponsored ceremony as the Military Logistics / Business Officer of the Year rated as the top maritime officers. Mr. Dobbs was also the recipient of the MIT Sloan School of Management, IDIQ Pioneer Award for Information and Data Quality Engineering. As an advocate for youth development and mentoring, he also served on the San Diego Urban League Diversity Advisory Council and within various civic organizations.
Mr. Dobbs joined the team at San Diego Unified School District in December 2012.
