All students in the School of the Arts will graduate prepared for college and careers. They will be self-directed, possess creative skills and abilities, and have a developed cultural appreciation and training in the media and the arts. These students will contribute to society in a postive manner.
AnnouncementsThe School of Media, Visual and Performing Arts (MVP Arts) at the San Diego High Educational Complex is one of six small schools supported by the Gates Foundation High School Renewal Grant of 2004. Students can create their future at the School of Media, Visual and Performing Arts! MVP Arts curriculum balances artistic development with rigorous academic coursework to prepare students to attend a college or university with a focus on the arts. Students have the opportunity to study instrumental music, dance, illustration, television production and theatrical studies while preparing for college and careers.Shared classes with San Diego City College prepare 11th and 12th grade students for a college environment and access to real-world experience and training. Internships and job shadowing allow students to graduate with creative skills and cultural appreciation to positively contribute to society. We offer Early College High School, an innovative program blending high school and college in a rigorous yet supportive program, compressing the time it takes to complete a high school diploma and the first two years of college. A full spectrum of sports, extracurricular clubs and ASB programs are offered to all complex students, including AP courses, yearbook, journalism, band, prom and JROTC. We offer a full service student center for college and career counseling. We are committed to communicating with and engaging parents as partners and also to obtaining community resources for our school. We invite all constituencies to assist us in the education of our students. El programa educacional de MVP Arts tiene un balance y enfoque artistico con cursos academicos con rigor que prepara a los estudiantes para el colegio o universidad.
