Learning to read is one of the first and the most important tasks your child encounters inschool. A child who experiences success in reading will approach other tasks with an expectation of success. Much of our energy and most of our resources are directed toward the reading program. Parents can help by reading to their children. Every child should have a library card and make regular visits to the library. Rosa Parks has a wonderful library from which children may check out books. Each child is expected to read 25 books annually. However, this is a minimum requirement and we expect much more from our students. Please set aside a daily"family reading" time.
