Uniform Policy

Horton Elementary has implemented a uniform policy.  Every student is expected to adhere to the following dress code….
            *Solid navy blue or khaki slacks, shorts, skirt, jumper, skort, Capri or plain jeans without holes
              or designs.
            *Solid navy blue or white shirt/blouse.
            *Jackets/sweatshirt must be solid in color; navy blue, gray or white
            *Shoes must be closed toe and closed heel.
            *Socks/Shoelaces must be solid navy, black, white, or brown
            *Belts must be solid navy, black, or brown.
            *Underwear can not be visible at any time.
*Undershirts or turtlenecks must be plain white or navy blue with no logos.
*Hats/Gloves/Bandanas/Do-Rags can not be worn at any time on campus.
*Glasses/Jewelry/non-prescription glasses or non-prescription sunglasses are not allowed.
*School supplies shall not be decorated with ”tag” style writing.
* Students are not allowed to wear lipstick or make-up of any kind.
 
Uniform Policy Enforcement
1.    First Uniform Violation-Uniform notice sent home and signed by parent.  Loaner uniform given to student for the day.
2.    Second Uniform Violation-Uniform notice sent home and signed by parent.  Telephone call to parent.  Loaner uniform given to student for the day.
3.    Third Uniform Violation-Parent telephoned, Parent meets with teacher/principal.
Again, we expect every student to wear the uniform every day.  School “loaners” will be available for the day for students who do not come dressed in their uniforms.  If you have any questions, please call the office at (619)264-0171.
