Ellen Browning Scripps is a high performing school that focuses work on our motto: Innovation, Imagination and Academic Excellence. All of our teachers are highly trained professionals who work collaboratively and collegially in their efforts to provide education that is second to none. The teachers meet in grade-level collaboratives on a weekly basis to engage in work that includes

All staff members understand that the education of the whole child is a community effort. We have strong parent support in and out of the classroom. This includes classroom volunteerism, membership on governance committees, the Fine Artists Program, the Academic Fundraising Partnership and Everyone A Reader tutors.

 

To support teaching and learning, EBS has an Instructional Leadership Team (with representation from each grade level, special education and site administration) to discuss school-wide and grade-level goals and how we can best meet them. We also have teachers from each grade level who attend professional development in literacy and other "academic experts" who attend trainings in other content areas.
