Note: Cooking is not being offered in the 2012-2013 school year. We hope to offer it again soon.
Our cooking class teaches students about nutrition, safety in the kitchen, following a recipe and basic cooking techniques. And the best part is you get to eat a lot of delicious food that you have cooked!
What’s Cooking?
Our cooking class recently enjoyed making thefollowing recipe:
WarmBlack Bean Salsa
Ingredients:
Directions:
Heat a medium skillet over medium heat
Add the olive oil
Add the onions, garlic and jalepeno pepper
Saute’ for 2 to 3 min
Add beans and corn
Stir in chopped tomatoes ad BBQ sauce
Cook until all ingredients are mixed
Transfer to a serving dish
This can be used as a topping for quesadillas,chips, baked potatoes or other foods of your choice.
