School-Home Communication

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are an excellent way to create or build upon a strong home-school partnership that is critical to student success. A parent–teacher conference is a time when important people in a student's life can talk about how that student is doing in school. It's a chance for you to ask questions about the class or your child's progress. It is also a time for you and the teacher to work together as a team to discuss ways you both can help your son or daughter. To help you prepare for a productive meeting with your child's teacher, please view Making Parent-Teacher Conferences Work for Your Child Link opens in new window., an article available on the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) website.

Parent/Guardian Contact Information

In case of illness, accident or other emergency, the school will attempt to contact a child's parent or guardian. Please make sure the school has current contact information, including home, work, cell phone and pager numbers. In addition, be sure to keep the office informed of any changes in emergency contacts or child care arrangements.

School Information & Flyers

All school and community information is regularly sent home with students every Friday.  Please look for our Weekly Parent Newsletter, the Z-News,  that is sent home each week.  We include important information that pertains to our school programs, procedures, events, and other activities.

Zamorano Handbook

Each child at Zamorano receives a copy of the Parent and Student Handbook, available in both English  and Spanish . Please sign the form on the back cover and return to your child's teacher as soon as possible. This form lets us know that you have read and discussed the information in the handbook with your child, and that you will support the school's effort to provide the best education possible.
