Junior Model United Nations allows students step into the shoes of ambassadors from the United Nations to debate current issues on the organization's vast agenda. Student "delegates" prepare draft resolutions, plot strategy, negotiate with supporters and adversaries, resolve conflicts, and navigate the U.N.'s rules of procedures - all in the interest of mobilizing "international cooperation" to resolve critical issues.
Students research global problems drawn from today's headlines in preparation for the San Diego Regional Junior Model United Nations Conference. This prestigious conference is held every May at the University of San Diego and it is here that JMUN delegates discuss topics including peace and security, human rights, the environment, food and hunger, economic development, and globalization.
