The San Diego Regional Junior Model United Nations (SDRJMUN) Conference is the longest running JMUN conference west of the Mississippi River and is currently in its thirty-sixth year. Inclusive of grades sixth through ninth, SDRJMUN offers an exciting and educational experience for both middle and high school students interested in international relations, peace studies and human rights.
SDRJMUN holds its annual conference in May and students from area middle and high schools spend two days discussing issues that relate to foreign policy, economics, history and diplomacy. On the agenda this year are topics dealing with terrorism, peacekeeping, and nation building. Other issues to be addressed at the conference include resolutions on human rights, world health, the environment and global disarmament.
SDRJMUN is a conference for students by students. Local area high school students and their MUN counterparts set the agenda, read the resolutions and chair the committees. Their expertise is invaluable in planning and presenting each conference.
