IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW (Rules, Reminders, Etc.):
  1. *OPEN TIMES:  These are open testing times; students come anytime after a day’s first start time, as long as they start their tests by 2:05.  I insist on students having at least an hour available for a math test, although they are welcome to come earlier to give themselves more than an hour.

  2. *NO TIME LIMIT: Students may take as long as they want, but they must be finished by 3:05.  Once they finish, they may leave; there’s no need to wait

  3. *TWO PARTS: The monthly math test may be completed in two parts.  Students and parents have the choices of
    (1) completing the test in two parts over two days,
    (2) taking both parts in one day but with lunch or more study in between, or
    (3) taking both parts at one time.
One part of the test must be done during the normal Wednesday-through-Friday math testing schedule, as shown above.   The other part may be done on the Monday afternoon after the testing week (except month 9, because the next Monday is a holiday, and school will be closed).  Note: either part may be done first.

  4. *LATE PENALTY: There's a 15% penalty if a student does not take the monthly test on time, according to the schedule on this page.  Details:
         •  The penalty also applies to the retake test for a late monthly test.
         •  “Not ready” is unacceptable in almost all cases.  Students and parents are responsible for planning and preparing effectively.  Even taking 2 or 3 tests in one day is not an acceptable reason for delaying a test, given that I have a three-day window for taking my math tests.
         •  Unavoidable conflicts, emergencies, illness, and travel are appropriate reasons for not being ready for a test.  I will always waive the late penalty in such cases BUT ONLY A PARENT MAY REQUEST postponing a math test.  Parents, please email me before the end of the monthly test week when such a need arises.

  5. *TEST TIMES WHEN LATE (APPROVED AND NOT APPROVED): Math testing is available on Monday afternoons at 1:00, except for holidays or schedule changes.  Please check the website every week for the most up-to-date schedule for such testing, or for anything else relating to my courses.
