Congratulations to Joey Schindler for being selected for Boys State winner.  American Legion Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high school students. A participatory program in which students become part of the operation of local, county and state government, Boys State was founded in 1935 to counter the socialism-inspired Young Pioneer Camps.

At Boys State, participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of franchised citizens. The training is objective and centers on the structure of city, county and state governments.

Legion posts select high school juniors to attend the program. Joey Schindler was selected to from Patrick Henry high to attend Boys State in Sacramento this summer and we are proud to have him represent Patrick Henry!

    Sophomore Tim Toombs.

Tim was selected by audition to the 2014 California All-State High School Honor Band.  The performance is on February 23 in beautiful Fresno.  Only about 5 or 6 students from our district are selected each year.  Nice work, Tim.
