Madison Golf

Madison golf is one of the best kept secrets on campus. With the girls playing in the fall and the boys in spring, our teams play on some of the best courses in San Diego, including the world famous Torrey Pines Golf Course.

In the fall of 2010, tenth grader Savannah Knox was player of the year in the Western League, shooting a 76 at Cottonwood’s Lakes Course to win the title. Our girls’ team looks to be much improved this year as several of the team are excitedly working on their game to be ready for the upcoming season.

The boys’ team has steadily improved each year for the past two years and with our entire team returning next year, there’s reason to believe we will be even better next year. We have more than doubled our win total each of the last two years and look forward to continued improvement.

There is always room for a new dedicated golfer on both our girls’ and boys’ teams, but it would be wise to start early in your preparation. We now have a JV boys’ team, and would love to start a girls’ JV if there is enough interest, so even if you are new to golf there is a place for you. Come see Coach Norton in room 201 if you are interested.
