School of the Arts
The School of the Arts (SOTA) is a small learning community at Madison High School, San Diego, California, providing a project-based learning environment that introduces students to the three primary areas of the arts: Performance, Production, and Media/Design. Students not only learn about the arts, but learn through the arts, as we nurture strong relationships between students, staff, and community.
With an emphasis on personalizing student education, SOTA is a place where students thrive in the knowledge of possibilities. Through cross-curricular projects, community competitions, community service, job shadows, mentors, and internships, our students come to understand not only the fundamentals but also the practical applications of schooled learning. Through our "SOTA Partnership Programs," students also learn from persons currently working in the industry.
