This is my 33rd year teaching at Madison. Go Warhawks!!
I graduated from the University of Redlands and began teaching in San Bernardino County Schools before moving back to San Diego. After a short time working as a speech therapist with the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, I came to San Diego Unified to teach deaf and hard of hearing students. I started at Hale Jr. High, then moved to Madison in 1981.
I have taught social studies, English, math and transition skills classes specifically for DHH and SAI students. I also currently co-teach in 10th grade history courses.
In addition to teaching academic classes, I have been a sponsor of Deaf Academic Bowl teams, Jr. NAD, written Transition Skills curriculum and presented at conferences. The reason I love teaching however, is because of the everyday interactions with students.
