Biography

Natural High

After graduating from Helix High School in 1965, I went to Grossmont Community College. I left college after one year to travel with a musical show called "Up with People." However, the Vietnam war was on and I was drafted into the Army. I received an early out to go back to college and after getting married, I graduated from Bethany College in Santa Cruz with a dual BA in Psychology and Bible-Theology. I worked with high school and college students in Northern California for about five years and then moved back to San Diego to teach middle school at a private school. Needing some immediate cash flow, I went to work for Coca Cola of San Diego. After 8 1/2 years with Coke, I left to help a start-up business called The Parts Dept., Inc. The business folded after two years and I found myself job hunting for the next two years. Kelsey-Jenney Business College and Creative Computer Consulting both hired me, although Kelsey-Jenney became my full-time job after one year. I taught computer and business courses where students earned an AA Degree in Business, Accounting, Court Reporting, Paralegal or various computer type jobs.

I started teaching at Madison September, 1999. Because of owning my own business, Computing Made Easy, I began teaching ROP Business and Computer Applications. In 2002 Madison opened up two sections of AP Psychology. I had the privilege to be its first instructor. In 2008 we taught a Marketing class. Although short lived, it was a great course for students to learn how to market themselves, their ideas, services provided or products produced. I really enjoy teaching and desire to have a positive impact on students. In 2009 we become a Graduation Coach and iHigh Mentor. This is a virtual learning community through APEX Learning with an opportunity for students to increase their GPA, make up lost credits, or take additional courses. I am always available for students and parents alike.
