The New year is off to a great start as Cabrillo Elementary welcomes our credentialed German Language teacher, Mrs. Andres and our two student interns all the way from Germany, Laura & Silja! We would also like to recognize Bridgette de la Garza, the grant administrator for the Department of Defense Operation World Language grant and Mrs. Oluwa for their efforts in bringing the German language program to Cabrillo Elementary. Also thanks to our neighbors and intern host family Dr. & Mrs. Tecca for opening their home to Laura & Silja.
Thanks to the students in Mrs. Olow's class and Mrs. Dieli's class for their performance (in German) of three beautiful songs!

School Board Honors Partnership with Cabrillo Elementary, USD & Louis Rose Society for our German Language Program:
Cabrillo Elementary, located in the La Playa neighborhood of Point Loma is one of the oldest schools in San Diego. The original school, Roseville Elementary, was founded in 1850. The school's name was changed to Point Loma Elementary and eventually Cabrillo Elementary. Long time Point Loma resident, John Debeck remembers walking down an unpaved Talbot Street to attend school here back in the day.
