Good Food Champions Harvest Health!
All it takes is a small time commitment and a passion for health. We are looking for at least one volunteer per school site. Good Food projects will vary in time, place and scale; it all depends upon what you want to do and how involved you would like to get.
Examples of Good Food projects that Food Services needs your help with:
Build Your Own Good Food Program: Let’s start with you, the Good Food Champion, what do you want to do at school? We are here to support our students, teachers and parents achieve their Good Food goals!
Farm to School: Be an ambassador for our local foods and farmers. Support farm to school programs at your school, across campus.
Taste Tests & Sampling: Conducting taste tests for new foods and sampling our menu items gives children an opportunity to try our healthy food options.
Garden to Cafeteria: Does your school have a garden? Would you like to feature that food on your school salad bar? Why not have kids “advertise” their school grown goodies in the cafeteria?
Good Food work can include a number of other initiatives, we provided this list only as a starting point for collaboration.
