Stop by anytime to say Hi or to ask a question!
Here is some background information about me:
I started as a teacher in the school district in 1993, 18 years ago, at Riley Atypical School; a self-contained school for students with behavioral concerns.
I have taught at comprehensive school sites, as well as special day schools. I have worked as a correctional teacher and a district-wide behavior specialist.
In addition to 18 years of daily classroom experience, I have coached eight high school teams, supervised services for English Language Learners, co-coordinated school-wide testing, and provided a variety of effective district and site in-services.
I have also worked as adjunct instructor in the Exceptional Children's Department at National University.
I hold a B.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Education. I hold two teaching credentials, a specialized behavior disorder certificate and an administrative credential.
I recently returned to SDSU as a graduate student in order to earn an Applied Behavior Analysis certificate, an Autism certificate and a full credential in the filed of moderate-severe disabilities.
I have been the keynote speaker for both the ADHD Foundation of Canada and the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections.
I live in San Diego, California, and have a daughter attending UC Santa Cruz.
I love traveling, and, every summer I travel for 65 days to various countries. Over the years, I have to visited all seven countries in Central America, eight countries in South America, eleven countries in Europe and the beautiful island of Tahiti!
I am a coordinator for the Annual Captain Matt Bancroft 3-on-3 Charity basketball tournament. I love playing basketball. I love writing books that help teachers and parents.
