At Johnson, all students attend the Science/Space Lab weekly.
The Science Lab utilizes a hands-on curriculum emphasizing the development of analytical skills necessary for scientific investigation in earth, life and physical science.
The Science, Computer, and Engineering Labs incorporate robotics, rocketry and other specialized equipment into the study of themes such as satellites, space exploration, living in space, and the history and dynamics of flight.
Using research techniques taught in the Science Lab, students learn to integrate technology skills into their studies. Using both PC and Apple computers, students use the internet to explore scientific ideas and questions, organize their data, and produce final presentation projects that support their research.
Through the use of hands-on activities, Science Lab students also enhance their reading, writing, and speaking skills through a variety of instructional approaches.
