Horton Elementary is a traditional elementary school located in one of San Diego's oldest and most diverse neighborhoods. Community diversity is reflected in the student population, which includes Hispanic, African American, and Lao families.
Our lovely campus and dedicated staff mean that kids learn every day in a positive environment. Our school has pleasant outdoor learning areas such as a lawn with shade trees and a bench, a learning grove (school garden), a workout room donated by the San Diego Chargers and large playground areas so that kids can take advantage of the great San Diego weather.
Horton has a single-track, year-round school calendar serving 615 students (2011–12 school year) from preschool through grade 6. Upgrades under way will put the latest technology in every classroom.
