Crawford High School Re-visioning

On Dec. 13, 2011, the Board of Education approved the restructuring of the administrative leadership at Crawford High School. Based on the recommendation from Supt. Bill Kowba, Crawford High will change from three principals to a hybrid comprehensive school leadership model with one principal and two vice principals. The goal is to create a single accountable principal model on the campus with support from two vice principals.

This re-visioning process will bring together all interested Crawford High School stakeholders - staff, students, parents and the community – to determine what structure will best serve students: a comprehensive high school with four pathways, four schools, an academy or a program. In the spirit of transparency and collaboration, stakeholders will be invited and encouraged to participate in meetings and focus groups.  Complete information will be provided to assist in making an informed decision.

The three focus areas in the re-visioning process are:

  1. Instructional Program (4x4, block schedule, 6 period day, etc.)
  2. School Management and Governance (principal profile, school culture, etc.)
  3. Academic Framework (pathways, schools, academies, programs, etc.)

This website will be updated on a regular basis with pertinent information including:

  • Minutes from meetings
  • Timelines
  • Names of co-chairs who will facilitate the three focus areas
  • Calendar
  • Stakeholder Decisions
