[You must register early to avoid course cancellations due to low enrollment. As the Discovery Program is financially self-sufficient, walk ins are not allowed, and a minimum number of registrants is required for a course to proceed.]
Discover is a cost-recovery program which offers professional development and training for certificated and classified staff, as well as parents and members of the community, at reasonable fees. The direction of the program is always developing and growing to align with the direction of District goals, and to offer solutions to professional development and training needs. Course development is a collaborative effort between the Instructors and Departments and Divisions to ensure a district–wide coordinated professional growth program. Discover courses are scheduled in the evenings and weekends.
Thanks to the support of parents, teachers, administrators, and the Board of Education, the Discover program delivers year-round opportunities for professional growth. CERTIFICATED PERSONNEL Discover courses are an economical and convenient method for certificated personnel to earn as they grow professionally, as courses closely related to assignments may be fully eligible for district salary advancement credits! CLASSIFIED PERSONNEL Classified personnel will also benefit from this convenient and economical method to prepare for promotional opportunities, changes in responsibilities, and to increase skills sets and productivity!
